Hurricane Helene Aid: LorMet Provides a $20,000 Donation to the American Red Cross

On the morning of Friday, October 4th, the Board of Directors and leadership of LorMet Community Federal Credit Union convened and finalized a $20,000 contribution to Hurricane Helene relief efforts through the American Red Cross. In the aftermath of severe flooding across the Southeast, hundreds of people remain unaccounted for, and entire communities have been decimated by the rapidly moving water. Tens of thousands of homes have been destroyed, leaving families in urgent need of shelter, clean water, food, and medical care.

“When natural disasters such as this affect our country, the call for help extends at a national level. Businesses and individuals came together immediately to provide families affected by this tragedy with humanitarian aid. The devastation is heart wrenching and reminiscent of Hurricane Katrina, a tragedy that also compelled LorMet to offer its support at that time.” stated Daniel Cwalina, President/CEO of LorMet Community Credit Union.  “There are people still unaccounted for and others stranded. Our prayers and thoughts are with every person affected by this unimaginable tragedy.”

The American Red Cross is gathering funds for efforts to help those impacted by Helene. Donations can be made by texting “HELENE” to 90999, online at redcross.org/donate, or via phone by calling 1-800-435-7669.

If you wish to donate by mail, you can print and fill out a donation form and mail it to:
